Welcome to the Received Text Society’s home page!
Our goal is to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is laid out in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, which has been made manifest through the true scriptures over the past thousands of years.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
King James Version
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
During the Reformation, the true and correct Bible was printed in various languages and known by various names such as the Reina Valera Bible (Spanish), Authorized Version or King James Bible (English), Lutherbibel (German), Statenbijbel (Dutch), and Olivétan (French)—just to name a few. The French Bible was known as “the Martyrs’ Bible”. All of these Bibles were published from the Traditional Text, which came from the best Hebrew and Greek manuscripts (scriptures that had been written and preserved by hand).
These precious Bibles changed the world by, among other things, helping eradicate slavery and caste systems, build schools and hospitals, define and value human rights, and create orphanages. Sadly, in 1881 two English doctors (Wescott and Hort) published a New Testament that was not based on the ancient documents that had inspired the Reformation, and upon which Christians have leaned for millennia. Wescott and Hort kicked off an era that has seen the explosion of “bibles” worldwide. Today, many people do not even know that these “new bibles” are at odds with the scriptural verbiage that Christians have trusted for generations.
This site is devoted to showing people why we need to stand on the orthodox scriptures of the Jewish and Christian faith, which are known by various names: the Traditional Text, Received Text, Textus Receptus, Majority Text and Byzantine Text.
Please, share any information you have on this subject so that we can see if it could be used here to inspire others to embrace the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and the Traditional Text upon which the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ stands.
